Editor's note: polka and Detroit are synonymous as far as music goes. Seeing as there are nearly a million of us Pollacks living in the area the thrift stores abound with polka records. I see Frankie Yankovich LPS just about everywhere I go. I always pass them up and seek out the more obscure looking ones. This one isn't to be found even on eBay! Hooray. So far it's pretty mellow. I guess I'm a little too accustomed to The Chicken Dance. Hey, I never said I was cultured!
PS... note the use of the asterisk for songs with vocals. All but one has a vocal and yet they used the asterisk to note the ones WITH a vocal. Haha. Only a pole!
I came across this record on a few blogs and managed to track down some audio from WFMU's site. I would love to hear more from this honky-tonkin' caterwaulin' queen. Listen to the tracks below and I think you will too!
