Carellen Records is immensely pleased to be able to bring you this album of pretty and tasteful renditions by "JUST RUBY." Ruby Paulk is a Georgia gal, born in Ocilla, in Irving County, and was educated at the Academy for the Blind at Macon. She began piano lessons at the age of eight, and immediately displayed evidence of talent for meticulous performance and imaginative interpretation.

Ruby began her professional career in the early 1950's, at the Atlanta Elks, and has been in Florida now for twelve years, entertaining in lounges and restaurants, the last eight years in Daytona Beach.

In this album, Ruby was ably assisted by Brian Sauter on drums; her work on the organ is characterized by a clean and sensitive touch and her appealing singing rounds out a recording that we enjoyed making. We're sure you'll find the listening just as enjoyable.

Cordially,

BOB QUIMBY
President, Carellen Records, Inc.

Editor's note: One of my favorite independent records. This one reminds me a lot of the music played in parts of the Charles Bukowski movie, Barfly. I own three copies of this gem and one is sealed! Lucky me.
