Editor's note: this is a pretty interesting record especially for 1984. You have to think that if they would have gotten some press as a new band in the 90s they might have been more successful. As is they have a unique minimalist sound with the vocals carrying much of the load though the prominently featured instrument of choice provides a carriage of rhythm. Sometimes it crashes and burns but sometimes it glides elegantly into frivolity and that's good enough for me. I must admit that when I first started listening I thought that the record was on the wrong speed! Shows my musical acumen. Ooooof!
PS...the backing vocals/groans on "Day Old Whale" are brilliant!
