Editor's note: two things stood out on this record from the other Euphonic series releases: 1. old black dudes on the sleeve 2. the mention of barrelhouse. The latter was a word Led-Zeppelin referenced a few times in songs so you know it had to be good or that one of the songs on this record were turned into a Zep song! As for old black dudes...well, they aren't going to put up with too much saloon piano before somebody busts out their hound dog vocal chords and tears the world of sentiment to shreds. These guys aren't the best of singers but the mood is almost as heavy as the piano at its best moments.
I came across this record on a few blogs and managed to track down some audio from WFMU's site. I would love to hear more from this honky-tonkin' caterwaulin' queen. Listen to the tracks below and I think you will too!
