Editor's note: I'm not a country music fan but if I had to choose between eras it would always be pre-1980s and more specifically before 1970. It was a distinctive backwoods honky tonk sound that rendered an even more mundane sentiment. Not amateurish but simplistic in an accomplished sense and purposely done. Well...then there was Patsy Cline who blew the whole concept to bits. But this is about old Hank and from the sound of this record he could fend for himself as far as hee and hawing go. Slapping a cartoon boot and the SEARS stamp on the cover only enhances his credibility in the musical dustbin.
